Why boat schools operate the SeaStorm 17
In training operations, a boat faces different demands than in private use: many short trips, constant docking maneuvers, different levels of operator experience. Every day a training boat spends in the workshop costs training time and money. Two factors reduce this downtime:
- Hull: no gelcoat, no osmosis prevention, no polishing, rinse and go. Dock contacts leave dents rather than cracks.
- Engine: predictable maintenance. Mercury recommends FourStroke outboard service every 100 hours or annually, whichever comes first. See “Outboard maintenance: intervals and costs” for details.
Safety that fits training
Buoyancy and stability are no side issue in training. The SeaStorm 17 is CE-compliant under RCD 2013/53/EU with assigned design category; buoyancy and stability assessment follow EN ISO 12217.
